ABSTRACT
Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Modified Huoxiang Zhengqi Soft Capsule in treatment of gastrointestinal type cold with exogenous wind-cold and endogenous damp stagnation syndrome.Methods A multi-center and double-blind double-dummy randomized controlled trial was conducted.440 patients of gastrointestinal type cold with exogenous wind-cold and endogenous damp stagnation syndrome were enrolled from Januarary to July 2013.They were randomly divided into two groups,the trial group of 330 cases and the control group of 110 cases.The trial group was given Modified Huoxiang Zhengqi Soft Capsule and Huoxiang Zhengqi Soft Capsule analogue three times a day for 3 days.The control group received Huoxiang Zhengqi Soft Capsule and Modified Huoxiang Zhengqi Soft Capsule analogue three times a day for 3 days.Clinical symptoms,signs and symptoms and adverse effect were observed and blood test,routine urine and stool test,feces occult blood,hepatorenal function and electrocardiogram were examined before and after treatment.Results In terms of traditional Chinese medicine syndrome and efficacy after treatment,the clinical healing rates of the trial group and the control group were 50.000％,35.455％ for full analysis set and50.464％,35.780％ for per protocol set.The overall effective rates were 94.848％,76.364％ for full analysis set and 96.285％,77.064％ for per protocol set.There were significant differences between the two groups (P ＜ 0.05).In addition,there were significant differences in clinical healing rates and overall effective rates of symptoms including diarrhea,nausea and vomiting,rhinobyon and rhinorrhea,fullness and oppression in the chest and diaphragm and abdominal swelling and pain between two groups (P ＜ 0.05).However,the difference in overall effective rates of headache and lightheadedness symptom were significant (P ＜ 0.05) except for clinical healing rate.No adverse effects were found in the trial.Conclusion Modified Huoxiang Zhengqi Soft Capsule is effective and safe in treatment of gastrointestinal type cold with exogenous wind-cold and endogenous damp stagnation syndrome and its effect is better than that of Huoxiang Zhengqi Soft Capsule.

Objective To explore the expression of Wnt secret protein Wntless in gastric carcinoma and normal mu-cosa,and to analyze the clinical significance of Wntless expression. Methods To detecte the expression of Wntless protein in gastric adenocarcinoma and normal gastric mucosa by immunohistochemistry. Results In 104 specimens of gastric cancer,the expression of Wntless in gastric adenocarcinoma was: 7.7% (8/104) cases were 0 or 1+, 36.5% (38/104) cases were 2+,and 55.8% (58/104) cases were 3+. While in normal mucosa,the expression of Wntless was:71.2% (74/104) cases were 0 or 1+, 19.2% (20/104) cases were 2+, and 9.6% (10/104) cases were 3+.The expression of Wntless in gastric adenocarcinoma was significantly higher than that in normal gas-tric mucosa (P<0.001). The expression of Wntless protein was positively correlated with tumor differentiation(P<0.05),and was positively correlated with lymph node metastasis (P<0.05).Conclusions Wntless is highly ex-pressed in gastric carcinomas and may have role in the oncogenesis. Wntless may be used as a new marker for pro-gression and metastasis of gastric carcinoma.

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of abdominal acupuncture plus Chinese medication in treating ureteral calculus. MethodA total of 106 patients with ureteral calculus were randomized into an abdominal acupuncture group (53 cases) and a medication group (53 cases). The abdominal acupuncture group was intervened by abdominal acupuncture plus medication, with Shuifen (CV9), Xiawan (CV10), Jianli (CV11), Zhongji (CV3), Guanyuan (CV4) and Qihai (CV6) selected as the major points. The removal of stones and the release of pain were observed in the two groups, and the efficacies were compared between the two groups.Result The two treatment methods both effectively improved the pain and promoted the removal of stones; the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores were significantly changed after the intervention in both groups (P<0.05). The time taken to mitigate and release pain was significantly shorter in the abdominal acupuncture group compared to the other group (P<0.01). The total effective rate was 88.7% (47/53) in the abdominal acupuncture group, superior to 73.6% (39/53) in the medication group (P<0.05).ConclusionAbdominal acupuncture plus medication can effectively mitigate pain, promote the removal of stones and reduce patient's sufferings in treating ureteral calculus.
